St Andrew’s CE (VA) Primary School is a happy and welcoming school with children at the heart of all we do. We are a school family where everyone thrives in every way and have a dedicated and supportive team of staff.

Parental influences have a powerful effect upon children’s attitudes, achievements and life outcomes. At St Andrew’s we want parent-school relationships to be as strong as possible, so that all our pupils can flourish and live life to the full. It is by working together that we can give children the very best educational experience.

As such, we are looking to appoint a SEND assistant and Family Support Adviser (FSA) to our team. This is a varied and challenging role, yet highly rewarding and your influence will be felt throughout the extended school community. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people and families.

As FSA, you would be the first point of contact for parents and carers, supporting and empowering them to address any challenges they may be facing and reduce problems and risks in both their own lives and the lives of their children. You will also have the opportunity to work proactively, organising workshops or events to develop parenting skills and build relationships and supportive networks throughout the school community.

As SEND assistant, you will be working alongside our school SENCo, completing various administrative tasks and paperwork, facilitating meetings, supporting families to access local services or assistance and improving parental engagement in their children’s learning.

The ideal candidate would have experience in working with children or families. Knowledge of SEND systems would be useful but is not essential.

Please email admin@st-andrews.plymouth.sch.uk for a full job description and an application pack or visit school website.
