Longcause School is a vibrant forward-thinking special school, for primary and secondary pupils with complex communication and learning difficulties, including autism.
We are looking for teachers who demonstrate a passion for working with children with complex needs, autism and attachment. This could be through proven experience of working in SEN either in a school setting or elsewhere.
You can be primary or secondary trained but must be aware that the majority of our pupils are functioning at below (old level) NC Level 4. We expect you to be skilled at delivering English and maths, including phonics, and will be required to deliver subjects across the curriculum. Training will be given in Read Write Inc.
In return we offer a friendly and supportive environment with a commitment to professional development. We have specialist staff trained in specific lead roles such as PACE/attachment trauma, Theraplay, Read Write Inc, sensory integration and musical play. We are a school committed to providing therapeutic interventions to meet the core needs of our pupils. We have exciting opportunities available for staff that are keen to embrace this holistic way of education.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post and references will be sought from the provided application form ahead of the interview process.
