Description

1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Outreach

We are passionate about providing the appropriate support, care, nurture, and educational strategies to allow our inspiring young people to truly flourish and this starts with helping our students to build trusted relationships with the staff around them. In today’s dynamic educational landscape, we recognise the need to cater to the unique challenges and opportunities presented by students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with some presenting as unable to access our classroom-based school provision. We are pleased to announce the launch of our innovative extension program, Step Change. This outreach extension program will offer a tailored support system to students who are unable to access their current educational support package, moving towards engagement with full-time regular attendance.

This role will involve the coordination and management of a caseload of students who will access this service. Initially, this role will be focussed on planning and delivery of direct casework with students, but as the service develops you will also be required to manage and support Step Change Support Workers.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • passionate about supporting students who are currently unable to access classroom-based provision
  • consistent, resilient and able to adapt dynamically in challenging circumstances
  • excited by the challenge of being involved in a project to meet a specific need that has been identified for our organisation and young people

Required: ASAP, but this start date is flexible for the right candidate.

Duration: Full time, permanent.

Salary: £19,000 - £22,000 actual salary working term time only – 39 weeks per year (22,660 - £26,239 FTE) dependent on experience

The closing date is 12th May 2024 and completed application forms should be emailed to Scarlett Guest, HR Assistant at hr@sfit.org.uk. CVs are not accepted. Interviews will commence week beginning 20th May 2024.https://sfit.org.uk/vacancies
