Literacy Interventions Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate that every young person should be given the best possible opportunities from their education?

We are keen to appoint a knowledgeable, resilient, and thus specialist Learning Support Assistant who will work with many of our students delivering out of class intervention sessions focusing primarily on Literacy.

We are looking for someone who will become a champion for the students with whom they work, being able to build nurturing relationships quickly, whilst encouraging students to engage with learning, breaking down barriers and challenges with high expectations and an understanding of SEND.

For whoever fulfils this role, consistency and reliability is key. We are looking for a skilled LSA who has a background in working with students with SEND or who has a proven track record working within an educational setting, confident in delivering targeted interventions. Training will be provided in Read Write Inc Phonics and Fresh Start – and the successful candidate will work closely alongside our class based SENDCo and Reading Lead. We would like for this candidate, over time to be upskilled in helping students with dyslexia, learning about precision teaching and other specific teaching strategies that can assist students with this learning need across the school.

Required: ASAP, but this start date is flexible for the right candidate.

Duration: Full time, permanent.

Salary: £17,000 - £22,000 actual salary working term time only – 39 weeks per year  (£20,238 - £26,605 FTE dependent on experience)
