Plymouth Learning Partnership are looking for someone who is able to work with families of primary aged children in the context of wider support from a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will link closely to children,  their families and schools,  with a passion to make a positive impact on children's lives, particularly when there is vulnerability and complexity.

This position involves providing a dynamic, child-centred support role for parents/carers and families through our multi-agency model.  The post will include:

  • Working very closely with other members of the team including psychologists, therapists, counsellors, other family workers and mentors to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Wider multi-agency working to support children and families.
  • The need for full working knowledge and adherence to the underlying values, principles and policy of Plymouth Local Safeguarding Children's Board, including integrated working responsibilities, early help and safeguarding practices.
  • The need to be able to develop and maintain effective support relationships with children, young people and families, and work within an extended range of network and partnerships to broker opportunities and improve the quality of services.
  • Working across a range of settings including schools, homes and community locations using a creative, individualised and solution-focused approach
  • Opportunities to work with the wider team to develop continuing professional development activities for the service, and enjoy the benefits of a thorough induction and ongoing personal training experiences as part of the service’s ongoing commitment to improvement.
